As a Postnatal Doula…

I will nurture and support you and your family in the first three months (or longer if you wish) after birth - the fourth trimester.
This is a time of transition, not just for the baby, who has gone from the beautiful, safe cocoon of your womb to life outside, but also for the parents who have to adjust to caring for a new life, which can be very daunting.

I want you to have the very best support in these early days with your new little bundle. This precious time is called your ‘babymoon’; a time to cherish and bond with your new baby - to find your unique way of parenting.

I am completely flexible. I can start immediately after the birth or whenever you feel the need for an extra pair of hands. You can have me every day or two/three days a week (minimum 4 hours per day); it is entirely up to you. I will fit around your needs.

How could I help?

  • Providing phone and email support

  • Debriefing on your birth experience

  • Listening to any anxieties that you have regarding you or your baby

  • Supporting you to navigate your chosen feeding method

  • Caring for your baby while you have a peaceful bath, shower, nap or just have some time out

  • Playing with/entertaining older siblings, or looking after baby so that you can do this

  • Carrying out any housework duties and cooking nutritious meals

  • Caring for pets

  • Helping you to find and access local resources and to establish a support network

Night Support

I also offer night support, giving you 10 hours of my time all through the night to look after your baby.  The start time can be whatever suits you. I will feed, wind, change and settle your baby back to sleep, so that you can have some well-earned, undisturbed sleep.

I will look after your baby all through the night, either doing all feeds myself with bottles of formula or your expressed breast milk, or bringing baby to you to feed and then settling baby back to sleep when feeding is finished.

Postnatal Planning Session

Cost: £50

I also offer a one-off, 2 hour meeting (face to face or via Zoom) for families who would like ideas about what they could put in place to help things run smoothly once baby arrives.

Topics included are:

  • Your wellbeing

  • A visitor Plan

  • Nourishment

  • Meal Planning

  • Your support network

  • Relationships

  • Your hopes and dreams

  • Affirmations

You will also receive a postnatal planner to help you prepare for the fourth trimester

Testimonials

Charlotte | January - June 2022

Debi is wonderful.  We feel so lucky to have found her and truly feel that she has become part of our family.  She came to us at one of the hardest times of our lives and provided us with everything we could need.  Love, support, guidance, kindness and practical help.  Our baby was quite poorly, needing feeding and breathing tubes along with a 24 hour monitor - Debi took it all in her stride, she was kind and calm, never overwhelmed, helped us find solutions, was incredibly efficient around the house and provided me with support emotionally and physically looking after our baby, toddler, dog and myself!

I cannot recommend her highly enough.  We will never forget what she did for us.  Both what a fantastic, efficient, proactive and proficient job helping us with our baby and house but also the loving, gentle, kindness she brought to our family.

Thank you Debi!! Xxx

Natasha | September – December 2021

Debi helped me when my daughter was a few months old.  She also did day to day tasks around the house and really looked after me!  She had such a wonderful way with my daughter that I instantly felt comfortable leaving her in charge.  She has so much experience with children that it instantly put me at ease and I would highly recommend her.

Laura | January - March 2021

Debi is the most wonderful doula. She is kind, caring and thoughtful. She is so proactive and she does things before I even think to ask her to, and seems to know exactly what I need before I even need it!

She has been a blessing to my family and I would not have got through those tricky months postpartum without her support, guidance and care.

Any family would be very fortunate to have her in their lives. I only wish we could have kept her forever!

Emma | May - October 2021

There were moments during the first three months of my daughter’s life when I found myself wondering if Debi was, in fact, an angel sent to save me and my partner from the brink of exhaustion. She is so brilliant at what she does – so caring, so hardworking, so astonishingly efficient, I couldn’t quite believe she was real.

She showed me and my daughter as much love as you’d expect from a close family member, and supported us in countless ways during those gruelling new-born days. We feel so lucky to have had her.

If you’re thinking of hiring Debi, my advice is to book her for longer than you think you’ll need her because once she starts, you’ll want her to stay forever.

Gemma | October 2020 - May 2021

Debi is utterly wonderful! She helped us from when our son was just 6 days old. Debi is a fantastic doula. From being extremely caring, kind and full of expertise, we couldn’t fault her. Debi guided us through the new born phase with lots of patience and understanding.

If we ever had another baby we would book her in after the pregnancy test :)

She is worth every penny and more!

Sara | September - October 2020

Debi provided postnatal support to my family over a 6 week period.
She is an incredibly kind, sensitive, empathetic, warm and hardworking individual. She is genuinely very caring and being a mother of 5, very good with children.
She absolutely surpassed our expectations, really going above and beyond what we had hoped. She was kind and accepting, and listened to me without judgement. She is so organised, and made me feel so much more able to cope!

Debi also developed a wonderful rapport with my children… my 1 ½ year old seemed to adore her.
She has been a Godsend and a privilege to know!

Mia | July 2020

I contacted Debi as I was worried that my baby was feeding too often, and perhaps not getting enough breast milk and was still hungry. Because of the Coronavirus she was unable to visit me in person, so she organised a Zoom call. She was so easy to talk to, and we ended up being on the call for well over an hour. She listened to absolutely all of my worries, and we ended up discussing my labour, slings, my birth plan, baby massage, co-sleeping, dummies, tongue tie, baby blues and sepsis. The whole time I felt really supported and she gave me her undivided attention.

Once the call had finished, Debi followed up straight away with links and websites to different things that we had discussed, like tongue tie and baby massage. She also messaged me two days later to see how I was getting on.

I could not recommend Debi any more!
