Help for every occasion

As a mother of five, I know firsthand that every birth is as unique as the child it brings into the world. My role as a doula is to support you—physically, emotionally, and spiritually—through every stage of your journey, from pregnancy to postpartum. With a calm, nurturing presence and years of lived experience, I offer guidance, reassurance, and practical care so you can feel confident, informed, and deeply supported as you welcome your baby.

Birth Doula

I will be there to support you on your wonderful journey into parenthood, taking tiny steps together to make this process as stress free as possible. I will do this by:

  1. Visiting you twice before your birth to discuss what you can expect to happen during your labour and then listening without judgement to your birth wishes. I will help you to create a plan to fulfill these desires to make your birth the magical experience that you wish for. Each one of these visits will last approximately 2 hours.

  2. Providing continual telephone and email support for any challenges or issues that may arise.

  3. Being on call from two weeks before until two weeks after your due date. If your baby arrives earlier than this, I will do everything I can to still be there to support you.

  4. Being present at your birth from the moment you call me, and staying with you until your beautiful baby is born and you have had your glorious ‘golden hour’.

  5. Visiting you once more at home, where we can debrief on your birth, discuss any issues that you might have and ensure that you feel confident and comfortable with your transition into parenthood (your new family dynamic).

  6. Being available by telephone and email for up to 6 weeks after your birth.

Night Support

I also offer night support, giving you 10 hours of my time all through the night to look after your baby.  The start time can be whatever suits you. I will feed, wind, change and settle your baby back to sleep, so that you can have some well-earned, undisturbed sleep.

I will look after your baby all through the night, either doing all feeds myself with bottles of formula or your expressed breast milk, or bringing baby to you to feed and then settling baby back to sleep when feeding is finished.

Postnatal Doula

I will nurture and support you and your family in the first three months (or longer if you wish) after birth - the fourth trimester.
This is a time of transition, not just for the baby, who has gone from the beautiful, safe cocoon of your womb to life outside, but also for the parents who have to adjust to caring for a new life, which can be very daunting.

I want you to have the very best support in these early days with your new little bundle. This precious time is called your ‘babymoon’; a time to cherish and bond with your new baby - to find your unique way of parenting.

I am completely flexible. I can start immediately after the birth or whenever you feel the need for an extra pair of hands. You can have me every day or two/three days a week (minimum 4 hours per day); it is entirely up to you. I will fit around your needs.

3 Step Rewind

This is a 3 step process to reduce the symptoms of trauma.

One of our most primitive survival techniques is the fight, flight or freeze response. When these emotions are triggered from a traumatic event, these exhausting feelings of helplessness and fear can re-surface and trigger the emotional trauma once again.

Afterwards, anytime you replay the event in your head it can activate these negative emotions and even though your brain will try to reassure you that everything is ok and there is no longer any real danger. It cannot override the stress signals that we are experiencing, so we relive these feelings over and over again.
